Making Space for Magic
Sometimes We’re Not the Magic. We Just Make Space for It.
We all know what a friend can mean in our lives. A real friend can steady us, lift us, and remind us who we are when life feels uncertain.
Today’s story is a beautiful reminder of that kind of connection.
At IMPACT Forward, two women’s paths crossed in a way neither of them could have planned.
One was a career nurse who suffered a mental health crisis after experiencing the deep anguish of grief—a weight that quietly reshaped her world.
The other had survived a traumatic assault that left both of her knees broken, along with her own mental health challenges.
Two very different journeys.
Two very real struggles.
One shared space for healing.
And in that space, something powerful happened.
They found each other.
What began as simply showing up turned into something deeper. They began to talk. Then to laugh. They started to share—not just their stories, but their strength. Over time, they began to grow, side by side.
Today, they are best friends.
It’s the kind of transformation that reminds us that healing doesn’t always happen in isolation.
Sometimes, it’s found in the presence of someone who understands without needing every detail explained. Someone who sits beside you---not to fix you, but to walk with you.
And here’s the most beautiful part:
Sometimes, we are not even the magic.
Sometimes, our role is simply to create the space where magic can happen.
A place where people feel seen.
A place where connection is possible.
A place where life, in all its fragility and resilience, can begin again.
So pause for a moment and think about that.
Life-giving. Healing. A chance.
Because sometimes, that is where everything begins.
