IMPACT of the Piedmont advocates and honors the humanity and rights of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) and actively supports their full inclusion and participation in the community throughout their lifetimes.

OUR HISTORY

IMPACT of the Piedmont is deeply rooted in the advocacy efforts that grew in Davie and Yadkin Counties. 

People recognized that individuals living with disabilities could live a better and more meaningful life interconnected in their own community.  These advocates went to work to create communities of care. Soon dreams turned to reality when  Davie County Group Home, Inc., Milling Manor and later Yadkin Home Place became realities. 

In 2017,  Davie County Group Homes and Milling Manor, Inc. merged and kept the name Milling Manor.  In November 2022, the agency name was changed to IMPACT of the Piedmont. In February 2023, the agency assumed operations for Yadkin Home Place in Boonville, NC. 

The IMPACT community will remain grateful to those who saw need, imagined opportunities for individuals to live their best life, devoted time and resources, and created the impactful agency that thrives today.
